Eliana Song

Member, 8th grade student at Daniel Wright Jr. High School.

Hello, my name is Eliana Song, and I am an eighth grader at Daniel Wright Junior High School. I began volunteering with Exodus in the seventh grade, which has inspired me to contribute to Genesis: In the Beginning. I have been playing violin for 8 years and from the age of 6, I have been competing in many different violin competitions. In 6th grade, Iwas able to perform a solo with an orchestra at Northwestern University. In school, I joined the volleyball team, math team, and was a member of the student council for 2 years. In the past, I have traveled to Mexico for a mission trip and taught/played violin for many families and children while also doing door to door missions. I have also traveled to Costa Rica and performed while doing street ministry. Every time I traveled, I saw how disadvantaged immigrants, often refugees, were, and it began to raise my awareness on the circumstances refugees face even after they are able to move to a new country. Seeing these issues first-hand have made me realize that something needs to be done, and that I need to help more people.
