In the beginning…is a student-led initiative focused on assisting refugee students who have immigrated to this country with limited resources. We are a dedicated group of students who formed a non-profit 501c3 organization with a vision and purpose to provide a welcoming environment for refugee students and their families an opportunity to advance in the classroom and flourish in the community through tutoring, classical music, mentoring, and friendship.

We offers one-on-one tutoring to refugee students in core and essential subjects including English, Science, and Math. Our volunteers are among the finest students in the Chicagoland area and offer lessons in music and string instruments in addition to the core and essential subjects taught in school.
