Director of Communication, sophomore at John Hersey High School

Hello, my name is Jayne Kang, and I’m a sophomore at John Hersey High School. I’m passionate about tennis and am on the math team. Currently, I’m an active member of the district honor orchestra.

Last summer, I had a chance to volunteer with KAN-WIN YPAL, where I helped educate and build leadership skills to prevent domestic and gender-based violence. This experience also broadened my understanding of culturally diverse perspectives, enhancing my ability to connect with and support individuals from different backgrounds. Additionally, I attended Worldview Academy in San Diego, California, where I was able to focus on developing my leadership abilities in God’s perspective and understanding the essence of Christian leadership. Through this summer learning, I want to engage in Exodus by helping refugees become more proficient in English and make them feel more comfortable with their journey to their new culture.
